Strategic Planning

Strategic planning at the University is continuous, complex, and integrated into University processes. Excellence by Design: 2024-2030 articulates the University's mission, vision, values, goals, and actions. Planning performed by the University's divisions and units is in alignment with the University's strategic plan. The other plans further operationalize and advance the goals of Excellence by Design: 2024-2030.

What We Do

The Office of Decision Support supports and facilitates University-level planning processes, such as Excellence by Design: 2024-2030, The Master Plan, and the Sustainability Plan. Additionally, we are available to consult on and provide levels of support in other plans at the division, college, department, and unit levels.

We are available to assist in the following stages in the strategic planning process:

  • Environmental Scanning/resource gathering
  • Gap, SWOT, SOAR analysis
  • Benchmarking
  • Survey creation, execution, and analysis
  • Facilitation of meetings
  • Facilitation of activities to engage key stakeholders in the process
  • Design, facilitation, and documentation of a strategic planning retreat
  • Development of a draft strategic plan

A number of resources are also available to assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans.
